As well as automatically switching on at dusk and off at dawn, the unit can be set to switch the light off at 3,6,9 or 12 hours after coming on at dusk. Alternatively, the unit can be set to turn the light on or off at random times in between the dusk and dawn periods. In this setting, the random on and off times are different each and every night. As well as being suitable for standard BC bulbs of between 40W and 100W, the unit also accepts electronic energy-saving bulbs of between 9W and 20W. Not suitable for enclosed fittings such as a flush ceiling luminaire. Do not use with fluorescent strip lighting, halogen lights, flicker style candlelight bulbs or in conjunction with a dimmer switch.
